STOP Telling Yourself Lies!
What's one of the biggest lies we tell ourselves? "I am failing because I am not where I want to be yet." Of course, you're not; you are still living! So many of my clients get stuck because they worry and stress over not being where they want to be. We think when we reach that one specific goal or place in our lives that we will finally be happy/fulfilled/complete. But the reality is there will always be another goalpost for us to hit. Why is this? Because we are human, and humans (especially go-getters like you) want to keep growing and keep moving forward to better ourselves and prove to ourselves that we are capable of accomplishing our dreams.
So what do we do? We practice as business owners being proud, excited, and confident NOW. We give ourselves exactly the feeling we want to feel at the end NOW while we are in the middle.
Why is this key? Because it keeps us going. It gives us the momentum and positive thoughts to create amazing things, serve our clients to the fullest, and level ourselves up to attract amazing things into our businesses and lives. I am not saying this is easy; your brain will tell you differently. But I am saying positive thinking and giving yourself what you want now is possible if you are open to the idea.
What if we dropped our doubt? What if we stopped being confused and just took the next best step? What if we focused on what is going "right" in our life and business instead of what's going wrong? What if we were proud of our accomplishments TODAY instead of focusing on what we haven't done yet?
I sit with these questions daily. I continuously think about how I can stop my confusion, slow myself down and take steps quicker with confidence. Right now, I have found that giving myself what I need NOW is the key and deciding that what I choose to focus on is exactly what I should be doing.
So how do you implement this mindset in your life to keep you going to your success?
#1 Write down what your vision is for your business. What will it look like when you have MADE IT? Get all the details down. No one will read this but yourself, so get it all out.
#2 What feelings will you be feeling when #1 is reality? For me, I noticed that I would feel proud, confident, and excited.
#3 At the end of each day, write down actions that you took that align with the feeling you want to feel. Example: For me, I would write down everything that I did that day that made me feel proud. By writing it down, you are acknowledging in your brain your accomplishments and how it makes you feel. You are showing your brain you are feeling proud right now, and guess what that does? It makes you feel good, and feeling good keeps you going, keeps you dreaming, and keeps you building and showing up every day, ready to make it better for you, your family, your company, your team, and your clients.
Don't let anyone tell you you can't have what you want NOW. It is possible, it is within reach, and you are capable of making it happen.
