Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, friends! This is the time of year when everyone is taking stock and thinking about the changes they want to see in their lives. Have you set any goals for the new year? Maybe you have an idea of what you’d like to achieve, but don’t know where to start. Perhaps you know you’d like to make some changes, but you aren’t sure what those changes should be. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed when thinking about the big picture and what you want your ideal life to look like. Here are a few tips to help you get started!
Set your goals.
Look ahead to gain clarity. What does that mean? Imagine how you want your life to look in December 2023. How are you different? Do you envision working less, putting more time into taking care of yourself, spending more time with family? What have you accomplished and achieved that you are proud of as of 12-31-2023?
Create intentions.
Keep it simple with intentions. Consider your three ‘buckets’ - Life, Business, and Self. Are there things you’d like to do differently? When you look at what you’d like to accomplish, is there an overarching theme? For example, my intention for 2023 is to create my healthiest life, business, and self. This encompasses all my goals for the Lifeaholic life I seek.
Create a process.
Once you’ve set your goals and intentions, create a process. These are a list of mini actions you can take to create movement in your vision. Now that you have clarity on what your intentions are, what are small daily, weekly, or monthly actions you can take to achieve your vision? For example, working out for 30 minutes 3 times a week, or stopping work 30 minutes earlier each weekday. Be sure to take the time to review these processes on a weekly basis, asking yourself what’s working, what’s not working, and what needs to change. Judge the process, not yourself. If you are struggling to meet your goals, tweak your process a little. Give yourself grace and accept that change is hard! Taking big leaps and committing to creating the life you want is scary, but the results can be intensely rewarding.
Do the thing.
Consistency is key. You’re not always going to want to do the ‘thing’, so focus on your why. Why are you doing this? Go back to your original intentions. Remember what you want to see in your life next new year’s eve. Remind yourself of this each time your brain says ‘no’ to what you know will help you reach your goal. Just do the ‘thing’ and acknowledge/reward yourself for doing the action that will bring you closer to your vision.
Creating a new self in 2023, one who focuses on finding balance in their life, business, and self isn’t easy. But let’s be real. You don’t just reach for the stars, you are the star, so please don’t limit yourself! You are capable of setting intentions and keeping them and working toward the life you deserve. I believe in you and your vision for your lifeaholic life.
